** 3 Vacancies Available ** Our valued law firm clients are seeking Litigation Legal Assistants for full-time positions, supporting Labour + Employment practice groups, with general litigation experience being acceptable for consideration.
PRIMARY DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the billing support for a group of lawyers including generating bills on a monthly basis, understanding and adapting to specific client requirements and transmitting bills through electronic billing hubs as required by clients;
- Provide all administrative support including conducting conflicts checks, opening and closing files;
- Maintenance of established filing systems, including correspondence, reports, records, confidential files and B/F files and/or systems;
- Some document production support for daily correspondence, pleadings and other document preparation;
- File preparation and management;
- Assist with booking tribunal / court and other hearing dates, communicate with registries;
- Organize, and assemble documents and books in support of tribunal and court hearings as required;
- Liaise with legal assistants, paralegals, other lawyers and clients on file progress; and
- Other legal duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, QUALITIES + EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant program and professional services office experience preferred;
- 3+ years’ experience in litigation is required; employment and labour practice experience is an asset;
- Understanding and familiarity with administrative tribunal and court procedures;
- Proven experience handling a high-volume practice;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities required to prioritize a high volume of tasks or competing priorities;
- Dedicated to providing service beyond expectation;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize and deliver creative solutions; and
- Ability to manage multiple internal clients and be adaptable to the needs of each.
